Chasselas. It has been cultivated in our canton since the 18th century. Following legal provision, the name Fendant can only be used in Valais. It owes the name Fendant to the particularity of its skin and the flesh of the ripe grape which splits under pressure when handled. In bunshes the fruit is large and compact.
With a yellowy-green robe and bright sheen, it has perfumes of lime, spices and meadow flowers. Its taste in the mouth has a fresh and lively attack. A fine and easy to drink wine, which is full of sunshine, it has rhythm, harmony and character.
This dry and fruity white wine is the perfect apéritif wine. It blends with raclette, fondu, classical Valaisan specialities, sauerkraut and all kinds of cheese dishes. “Hurlevent” Fendant will always be found from the beginning to the end of each party or celebration…
to serve it at a temperature of between 7°C and 9°C.
